Under British law it is a requirement that all items made of precious metals above a certain weight should be assayed, i. e. tested and marked appropriately by an Assay Office.

As of July 2009, palladium has it's own hallmark.

silver ~ 7.78 grams
platinum ~ 0.5 gram
palladium ~ 1 gram

Our maker's mark of 'MSC' is registered with the Birmingham Assay Office.
